Restricted Activity Reporting
Knowledge Base
Why are there no events in the Restricted Activity report?  What is Restricted Activity?

The "Restricted Activity" tab differs from Web Filter, Antivirus, and IDS, in
that it shows all other protocol activity traversing the UTM.  For
example, logged events for Instant Messaging (MSN, AIM, etc), or VOIP
(skype), P2P (gnutella, bittorrent, etc) are all possible entries under
Restricted Activity.

These services must have a corresponding setting under Protection Profile in the UTM to block/allow and must have the log option set to enable.  Please consult your UTM documentation for further detail on customization of policies and profiles.

When logging is enabled, and the log filter has been configured
according to the Vanguard configuration instructions, these events will appear
in Vanguard Monitor under Restricted Activity.
